    Born in 1934
    1949: Joined Todaiji Temple in Nara Prefecture, Japan
    1957: Graduated from the Faculty of Letters of Kyoto University
    1961-1962: Studied at Cairo University
    1964: Completed the Doctoral Course in the Graduate School of Kyoto University
    1968: Received Ph.D. from Kyoto University
    1965-1998: Part-Time Lecturer of the Faculty of Letters of Kyoto University
    1975-2004: Head of the Todaiji Library, Board Member of Todaiji Gakuen Junior and Senior High School, Todaiji Finance Secretary, Education Secretary, Chief Secretary and Director of Religious Affairs of the Kegon School of Buddhism, Abbot of Join Temple and Director of Todaiji Gakuen Junior and Senior High School
    May 2004-April 2007: The 218th Chief Abbot of Todaiji Temple and Director of the Kegon School of Buddhism
    May 2007: Abbot Emeritus of Todaiji Temple
    May 2010-April 2013: President of Todaiji Culture Center
    August 2015: Received Foreign Minister's Commendation
