10. Chair in Platform
>>Top
The lightness was expressed by adopting curved thin steel plates as material of chairs, preserving the atmosphere produced by curved surface of plank sheets. The height of the seat surface and the curvature of the back surface necessary for comfortable chair were investigated by producing full-scale mock-up made by cardboards and sitting on it in actual. The seat surface was designed to be deep and the waist part was designed to be convex so that the back surface of the chair does not press the stomach in contact with the entire back of the people. Steel plate of 2.3mm thickness was used for the supports and veneering decorative plywood was used for the seat surface.
