The Department of Japanese Language focuses on reading, writing, listening to, and speaking Japanese, and developing students with a deep understanding of the background to the Japanese language, and able to use Japanese in a superior and sophisticated manner. In this modern society, with its high level of computerization, there is a need for a comprehensive competence in language.
Careers in English Communication
Experience studying in the U.S., and being trained in an Internship in Companies in Japan and the US.
In order to address the challenges of an ever-globalizing world, our department offers English education and academic training together with our university’s United States branch campus, Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute(MFWI)that challenges students to increase their English skills, and strengthens cross-cultural communication abilities. Our aim is to cultivate a sense of independence and cooperation in students, through their living and studying overseas.
Internships in companies in Japan and the U.S. assists the student in determining a career path.
At the culmination of a comprehensive curriculum students with knowledge and strong English abilities will find their way in the globalized world of today.
Early Childhood Education
Training Kindergarten Teachers and Childcare Workers with an Awareness of Current Societal Conditions.
The Department of Early Childhood Education is dedicated to the development of well-qualified kindergarten teachers and childcare workers with the ability to be sensitive and creative. Today's employment situation is driving up the demand for female educators in kindergartens and nurseries.
Psychology and Human Relations
Focus on the Study of Psychology at the Junior College Level for a Bright Future.
One of the few junior college departments offering psychology. The curriculum was revised around the study of psychology in 2011.
Students study psychology, social welfare and recreation through the themes of 'find yourself', 'build and support a household', 'energize yourself through society', and 'participate in society'.
Health and Sports
Developing Highly Qualified Sports Instructors in the area of Health Instruction.
Health and Sports Science develops students into professinal instructors with the necessary knowledge, as well as a high level of qualifications in methods of instruction.
Focusing on the sports instructors requirements in the areas of health and sports in business, and in society in general, as a response to the increasing interest in maintaining and improving personal health.
Dietary Life and Food Sciences
A Focus on Developing Practical Dieticians with a Comprehensive View of Food and Health.
Food is the basis of health and a healthy daily lifestyle. The Department of Dietary Life and Food Sciences is engaged in training dieticians with practical abilities to build healthy lifestyles through a focus on dietary life from an overall point of view covering food culture and the food environment, and a comprehensive understanding of health in scientific terms.
Fashion and Living Design
Developing the Practical Ability to Create a Positive Living Environment, and Pursue Personalized goals.
The Department of Fashion and Living Design focuses on the study of clothing and living space, two of the most relevant aspects of our daily lives. Each program studies the basic creation of 'things' in the clothing and living space, and through the medium of specialized learning, refines the individual's creativity and sense of design.
