科目目的 Course Objectives |
In this course students will continue taking introductory steps into the research and writing process. Students will read about contemporary socio-cultural, economic and political issues. While doing so, students will analyze and synthesize information, building towards a research paper both within the course. |

The goal of this course is to equip students for the completion of their theses, in addition to expanding their linguistic, socio-cultural and academic knowledge related to contemporary socio-cultural, economic and political issues. |
授業内容 The Content of the Course |
Students will take introductory steps in the research and research paper writing process. In doing so, they will review and or become familiar with topics including plagiarism, selecting resources from which to draw, and referencing and citation format. Additionally, students will explore select local, national, international (regional), and global issues via the reading component of the course. Students will be required to write a two-page (typed, double-spaced) reading reflection (including a summary of the article and the student's opinion) for each reading assigned, and will bring this reflection to class on the day they are scheduled to discuss the reading in-class. The course will use a writing text, while articles will be provided for reading by the instructor. |
