本科目の目的は英語を読むのに必要な基本的能力を身につけることである。 本科目は、中高教科英語を教授するに足る基礎的知識および技能等を修得し、教職実践力と関連づけて理解することを一目的とする。 |

授業内容 The Content of the Course |
Students will be equipped with skills including skimming, scanning, predicting, and critical reading. They will begin to guess the meaning of unknown words, recognize rhetorical patterns, predict content, generalize, make inferences, and summarize. Students will be doing extensive reading outside the classroom and discussing books in class. |

Instructors will cultivate a classroom environment that encourages students to engage and interact with each other and the teacher.
