The roof of the dome was hoisted by Panta-Dome Construction System after assembling structural frames folded on the ground. The weight of the roof is nearly 4,000 tons,in order to hold snow load of 2m-depth. Panta-Dome Construction System is a phenomenon of metamorphosis of architecture in its generation process like that of insects. Formal articulation for metamorphosis shows the mechanism upon completion. The shape of hinges varies slightly according to the movement caused by hoisting. |
