The aim of the graduate school is to increase advanced research abilities and to develop a higher degree of knowledge in specialized occupations. The master's program is two years and the Doctoral program is three years. Both programs are coeducational. In order to meet the requirements of continuing education, Mukogawa Women's University's graduate school has a special educational system for working people who wish to study earnestly at the graduate school level.

Japanese Language and Literature Major (Master's Program)
Japanese Language and Literature Major (Doctoral Program)
Approaches related to the thoughts and feelings of historical figures of Japan through out the long history of Japanese language and literature are taught in this program. Modern consciousness and behavioral patterns are analyzed through international and academic language, with an emphasis on research in the field of literature.
A wide range of fundamental and empirical research in the fields of Japanese literature and linguistics from ancient times to the present are highlighted in this program. Research meetings are held frequently, and research results are published in Kahoyotori, the graduate school publication.
English Language and Literature Major (Master's Program)

This program promotes specialized knowledge for students living in this international era through research in the fields of British literature, American literature, English language studies, English language education, and British and American culture. The program focuses on graduates who will play a role as middle, secondary, and university teachers, and research personnel, as well as public servants, and those in administration, in the mass media, and in journalism. Each student is provided with technical guidance in research suited to her interests, and backed up by experienced researchers who are native speakers of the language.
Education Major (Master's Program)
Being in the graduate school of Education involves research in the theory and practice of education in the three fields of Educational History and Philosophy, Educational Curricula and Education Management, and Child Education and Care. In practice, the program aims at the development of highly qualified professionals with a broad education and benevolence to all people, a knowledge of educational theory and practice, an inquisitive mind, and practical abilities to provide objective guidance to resolve various problems that may arise.
Clinical Psychology (Master's Program)
This program promotes both specialized skills and practical abilities for research in the three fields of Developmental Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Social Psychology. Designated Grade 1 by the qualifications committee of the Japan Society of Certified Clinical Psychologists, students are able to take the Clinical Psychologists examination immediately upon completion of the program.

Theoretical, practical, and clinical research related to development and adaptive assistance in all life stages from infant to old-age in the three fields of Education, Psychology, Social Welfare Studies are explored in this program. Focusing on the training in specialized occupations, students develop research skills from an academic viewpoint.
- The Masters Degree provides evening lectures, and is primarily designed for those already employed.
- Latter stage doctoral students attend daytime lectures in Education and Clinical Psychology, evening lectures in Clinical Education.

Advanced sports education and research in the fields of Health and Sports Sciences, Sports Training Science, and Rehabilitation Sciences are the focal points of this program. This program helps students to contribute to all areas of life, and health and sports instructors are able to assume guiding roles in society, with the necessary skills to assist in raising the quality of life, through positive interaction and cooperation with people.

Administration Food Sciences and Nutrition Major (Master's Program)

The Masters program covers basic and applied research for a deeper understanding of the relationship between food and health. The Food and Nutrition Science program is designed to develop skills for research development, and for the management of nutrition information. The methods for the promotion of dietary education, currently set as primary importance, are part of promoting health at the group level. The treatment of illnesses is based on individual nutrition and the condition of the body. The Health and Nutrition Science program as connected to research related to improvement in quality of life, is based on a practical management program to prepare National Registered Dieticians for employment in clinical and welfare situations. The latter stage of the doctoral program has been established to promote further research in this field. The Nutrition Science Laboratory established in 2012 works in cooperation with the program and includes a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant system.

This major has been established in cooperation with the Human Environmental Sciences and Information and Media Sciences Departments, and focuses on the fields of human environmental science, and information and media science. The program takes a broad approach to the human environment in terms of clothing and housing, town and city, objects and information, culture and behavior, and materials and design.
In this major, the educational method of professional programs in Europe and the U.S. are adapted, wherein all students in the master's program work on a common assignment. In the six-year curriculum, including four years of study in the undergraduate course in the Department of Architecture, architects and architectural engineers develop advance knowledge, skills, awareness of designs, historical sense of values, and a code of ethics, and who may be recognized internationally are trained. The doctoral program aims to train students to acquire more advanced knowledge and skills in this field. This program also prepares architects and researchers to act as leaders in their chosen field.

The Pharmaceutical Sciences masters program focuses on education and research related to pharmaceutical science in the areas of drug development, life sciences, and clinical work, and has as its objective the development of pharmacists with a high level of expertise in the creation, development, and application of pharmaceuticals, and the training of research personnel able to fulfill a guiding role in society.

The pharmaceutical science doctorate focuses on education and research in the fields of pharmaceutical therapeutics and practical clinical pharmacy, and has as its objective the development of pharmacists with highly specialized training in pharmaceuticals used in current medical practices.
The Pharmaceutical Research Department provides a selection system including a long-term completion system for those currently employed and provide studies of pharmaceutical science at a higher level, to gain a doctoral or masters degrees.

The Graduate School of Nursing conducts teaching and research, focusing on both theory and practice. The school aims to nurture experts who can convert experiential knowledge into theoretical knowledge, play leading roles in improving healthcare and welfare, and further the study of nursing. In other words, we aim to nurture individuals who can identify and theoretically analyze problems associated with nursing practices and utilize the outcomes of their inquiries accordingly. Through their studies in graduate school, those who have been working in the nursing profession will undergo a process whereby they theoretically conceptualize the questions and concerns they face in nursing practices and then apply theories in their work. After graduating, they can continue to follow this process and, thus, improve their nursing practices.
